UCP Barstool Open

Event Information

Come back in early January for the 2011 date! – 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Barstool Open features three courses. Each foursome (team) will register to play one course.

Fee is $150 per team (four players). That’s just 37.50 per person.

Play begins at 10:30 a.m. sharp. Teams may select their starting bar on their chosen course.

To help level the playing field, Mulligans will be available for purchase at the first tee.

Prizes are awarded for Best Round and Best Dressed for each course. Best Round score is based on best of 6 (six) holes. Each team must complete 6 holes to qualify to win.

Best Dressed is scored by Tim Gunn of Project Runway. Okay, not really. Actually, the course marshals will evaluate each team’s creativity, originality, and general stylishness. Be brave. Be bold. Be clever, witty or funny. Just be in costume. It’s half the fun!

Shuttle Transportation
Shuttles will be provided for the Brookside|Waldo and Kansas courses. The Westport course is walkable.
The Kansas shuttle will stop at each location (sharing a stop at The Other Place and Maloney’s).

The Brookside|Waldo shuttle will offer four stops:

63rd and Brookside Plaza
75th and Wornall
Patrick’s parking lot
Between Swagger and Corner Cocktail (85th and Wornall)

Working with local distributors for MillerCoors, UCP hosts the Barstool Open to achieve three key goals:

To increase public awareness of UCP and its mission
To raise unrestricted – and much needed – funds for UCP programs and services
To cultivate new volunteers and future UCP supporters

The tournament made its debut in Springfield, Illinois, in the mid-1990s. The event was so successful it garnered national support from MillerCoors (then Miller Brewing Co.), which led the Kansas City affiliate to launch its Barstool Open in 1999. The Kansas City Barstool Open is now in its 11th year and continues to grow in popularity.

The Barstool Open is played on miniature golf holes constructed by participating bar & grill locations throughout Kansas City. Each foursome plays one course.
