Why volunteer?

You’ll get to point and laugh at all the crazy costumes and terrible shots. Okay, what we mean to say is you’ll get to officially score the golfers on their creativity and athletic prowess.
You’ll get a free meal. Yes, each volunteer will receive a free meal at the establishment at which they volunteer. Oh, and free soft drinks, too!
It’s for a great cause! What else would you be doing with your day in the dead of winter? Watching reruns on cable? Seriously? You can do better. And our community will be better for it.
You’ll meet new people and make new friends. And maybe pick up a few golf tips.
Because without our valuable volunteers, the show cannot go on. Our volunteers make the day possible.
You’ll also get a stylish, official Staff t-shirt.

Volunteer Opportunities

POSITION	DESCRIPTION \| RESPONSIBILITIES
Hole Captain	Greet golfers, confirm rules and oversee hole operations at assigned bar Must recruit at least three (3) Course Marshals to assist with assigned hole from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on the day of the event
Course Marshal	Facilitate scoring of play and costumes; maintain pace of play
Transportation Coordinator (Brookside\|Waldo and Kansas courses only)	Ride along on bus route; coordinate with Hole Captains to announce bus arrival for pick-up
ALL VOLUNTEERS: Volunteer hours are 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010. Volunteers will be asked to attend a training/orientation session a week or two prior to the event. Details coming soon. Volunteers will be required to wear the Official Barstool Open STAFF t-shirt and lanyard during their shift. Have fun! Recruit friends! Make new friends! Be a UCP and Barstool Ambassador! Oh, and enjoy a free lunch!
